Sign: ‘Bar Harbor, The first summer visitors who came to Mount Desert got “room and board” with farmers and fishermen. The board included lobsters and home-made doughnuts. No wonder they came back! Quickly the word spread that here was a haven of refuge from summer heat and a region of beauty and interests. So Bar Harbor, because of its favorable location, grew to be a vacation resort known the world around.’ Zoom in on Bar Harbor seen from the top of Cadillac Mountain.
