Part 1 Panning around a snow covered parking lot. A man speaking at a union meeting in Rumford, Maine. A band plays on stage. People in the audience hold hands and sing along. A woman speaking into a microphone. A man speaking into the microphone, at a town meeting for Jay, Maine. A man gets up to speak. People vote on a series of articles. Cut to people seated around tables at a different meeting, with one man standing to speak. Cut to a man seated in an armchair, speaking to the camera. He talks about union history and the strike, and appeals to retirees to write to their former companies. The man holds up a copy of the Lewiston Daily Sun newspaper, with a headline about the International Paper Co. [End of Tape] Part 2 A man in an armchair speaking to the camera, asking retirees to support the strike. Cut to two men on the roof of the International Paper Co. mill building, shoveling snow.
