1925
NHF cataloger: A woman, Clara, sits at the rudder of a boat. She stands up and walks to the front of the boat. Cut to a man, Bill, standing at the front of the boat looking out over the water. He scans around until he is staring at the camera. Then he removes his hat and waves and checks the sail. Clara sails her boat, shot from the shore/pier.
Supplied by the Historic Movies of Martha’s Vineyard project at the Vineyard Gazette in Edgartown, Massachusetts: Clara Dinsmore and her brother Bill sail her sloop Iolanthe in the outer harbor. Shot of her single handling the boat through a pair of tacks and gibs. (Sail number may say E5. If so, this could be an example of the Edgartown 15 class, which no longer exists.)
