Collection contains a sponsored work, "The Story of Wood in the Northeast," describing the logging industry, made by the Northeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association. The film covers operations from forest to sawmill to manufacturing as well as changes in technology, and is narrated with background music. Includes scenes of wood being manufactured for products such as furniture, boxes, plywood, buckets and women's shoe heels.
Bill Gove, resident of Vermont, retired in 1989 from the Department of Forestry, Parks and Recreation within the state's Agency of Natural Resources. The Department has copies of various films pertaining to the logging industry in northern New England. Original footage is 16 mm. film.
