The recent supermoon and partial eclipse drew much attention locally, as seasonal moons often do. The moon has always been a particular human interest. Among the NHF collection are news clips from the late 1960s and early 1970s reporting on the first moon landing, a Bangor High School play rehearsal of the Dark Side of the Moon, and a Skowhegan fifth grade school mock-up of a lunar vehicle.

There are many more reports about harvest moons among the collection soon to be digitized through the support of an NEH grant, and will be available for public search and review at the NHF portal.
