Hurricane Season

The devastating weather in Florida and the Gulf of Mexico region may seem remote and seasonally early to us in New England. For some among us there are memories of such storms close to home in our own Gulf.  Hurricanes Carol and Edna slashed through Maine 70 years ago, and though the coverage of those storms might seem cartoonish by today’s standards, the damage was clearly no laughing matter.
