FROM THE DIRECTOR OF "GOOD WILL HUNTING"

Corporate salesman Steve Butler (Damon) arrives in a rural town with his sales partner, Sue Thomason (McDormand). With the town having been hit hard by the economic decline of recent years, the two outsiders see the local citizens as likely to accept their company's offer, for drilling rights to their properties, as much-needed relief. What seems like an easy job for the duo becomes complicated by the objection of a respected schoolteacher (Holbrook) with support from a grassroots campaign led by another man (Krasinski) who counters Steve both personally and professionally.

SENIOR STRENGTH TRAINING AND FITNESS CLASS

At the Jewett School Community Center
Bridge Street, Bucksport, Maine
Tuesdays and Fridays 9-10am
This class for people over 50 was started 11 years ago by Mary Jane Bush and Carlene Harmon. In theory, the purpose of the class is to provide seniors with a place to strengthen and tone their muscles in order to help them live life to the fullest.
In practice, some of the members expressed their feelings about the class when asked what they have gotten out of it. The first response was, "My doctor told me that I was the strongest 80 year old lady that he had ever seen. My remark back was that I get this from my exercise class." Several members mentioned the sociability that the class provides. Others said that it has helped their bad backs, their balance and their energy level. A woman said that the class helps her to be able to live alone and that she can now shovel her own snow. A dog owner said that she can take her dog out and not fall down. And finally, another woman said that the class answers all of her needs, particularly giving her a chance to relax her "fun nature and acting skills."

In short, the class goes beyond the theoretical strengthening and toning, and addresses the whole person making them feel more complete and able to maximize their living experience.
