It is clear from the presentations we have heard and the archival clips we have seen during the last two days that we live in a biographical age in which moving images are critical to our understanding of how both the famed and the unknown have helped to construct the past meanings of society and our current understandings of history. It is difficult to fathom how our current biographical investigations and revelations would be constructed without the historic moving images that archivists have protected.
