Title, “Joplin Okmulgee Enid 1927” title on art board. Then 28:09 3 boys building snow fort in town, perhaps Concord, NH. One boy in checked jacket, all in caps. Mining in Missouri? Joplin area, probably lead or zinc mine. Hills in background, pan of disrupted terrain, some kind of mine, perhaps? Edges of land with pit in foreground. Pan continues. Men in miners hats with lights around bucket, they climb into bucket. They look at camera. Operator stands aside and helps the bucket descend. Manager (?) was in frame, then cut to him with cigar, waves, turns away. Woman in hat, fur-trimmed coat, purse, looks at bucket shed, leans forward, holds onto door. Bucket comes back up with no men in it. Pan of shed with woman and man coming out. There is a ladder on the roof. It is shingled and has two doors and one window. They point off to one side, then walk forward. Another camera POV, they hat and gesture and walk to camera. Car shed in background. Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Courthouse Square Stone wall, four men in hats, two shake hands. Building was “built in 1878 as the Creek National Capitol, and was later converted into the Okmulgee County Courthouse. When the current Okmulgee County Courthouse was erected in 1916, this building in the middle of the town square was converted back into the Creek National Capitol.” They walk toward camera with wall between them and operator. In the background, town buildings. Boy with string of fish shows them to man and woman. Four men walk along sidewalk to camera. A row of cars angle parked beside them. Fire hydrant in background. Another view of town, street lights, corner with rubbish bin, stone building stands alone on its lot, Pan to taller buildings. Electric wires and streetlights. View across the street with pedestrians, ten view of our key building with a sign outfront (not legible). Boy on bicycle approaches and leaves frame. This is transferred slow, cars very slow turning corner. Central National Bank with awnings. More buildings, stoplight suspended over street. Beatty Drug Co. Long car with four doors on one side. Women cross street. Our building is surrounded by low stone wall, is made of stone and has a central cupola (square) on top. Orpheum Theatre. Men cross street by Beatty Drug. Stone building in background and couple walks toward us. Another part of town, man with wheelbarrow behind our group of three crossing street. Two women wear cloche hats. Hotel in background. View of petroleum facility, wobbly camera from a second-story window. Extensive facility with brick buildings, fencing. Couple from above, they are on a platform, there are pipes and petroleum tanks behind them. Roof top with two wind funnels, pan continues showing pipes as part of refinery. Tanks with steam and more pipes and valves. Interesting overview of refinery, 360 degrees and very extended. Men in front of car. One in overalls. Man in overcoat puts out his hand and shakes the others’ hands. There is an anvil. Interior view. Champlin Refining Co. building, pan to car and three-bay shed. Then house with porch and screen porch. Pan continues. View of petroleum facility and towers. Fencing around them. Pan continues across level landscape. Comes across another tower with a car next to it. Animals in the distance. More towers. A house, the road, with a Y intersection. Closer view of tower at work, tank and steam being emitted. Views of various structures around the pump. Car passes on the road behind. Downtown, Large building, Western Union and Orpheum signs. Drugstore across, our building in the square. Highrise.
