Excursion; car parked at side of road, toddler (Aurelius B. Hinds II) runs through grass followed by two women. Picnic. At house, family members in garden. Arbor with pillars. (Scratch.) Family members hug, stand around car. At sandy ocean beach, not summer. People are dressed in coats and sweaters. Mrs. Hinds in hat reading a magazine (Good Housekeeping?). Children dig and play. At home, Aurelius Hinds II, toddler, on running board. (Scratch is very evident.) Mother on lawn with book and child. Car is a cabriolet with cloth roof. On front steps with book, child has magazine. Boy in glasses with leather jacket. Takes jacket off, hugs mother. They stand on step. She has dress with polka dots. Pan of large building, hotel, perhaps 8 stories, three wings. Colonnade at bottom. Elm tree out front. Child viewed from second story. Child descending stairs. At home 27 Chadwick Street, Portland. Man with pipe in doorway gestures to camera to go away. At beach in winter dress. Portland neighborhood, view of street, brick house (home) with circular driveway. Man in hat descends front stairs, approaches child in beret. Child pushes toy around birdbath. The other houses are very visible: hedges are low, trees are not in leaf. Man in hat inspects car, man with wheelbarrow goes by in background. Man with pipe bends down and retrieves wheeled toy on stick. Child in wicker pram. At brick institutional building. Directors chairs in a row outside. Unpaved road, family around car, they wear coats and it is breezy.
