1938 – 1941
Seaplane flying …mostly 1940 Donor notes on can: "SEAPLANE FLYING FLYING Mostly 1940 Seaplane Cruise at High Head 1940 Luscombe 1941 Harry Proctor in Fairchild 1940 (Blue) Mike Harlow landing Fairchild & NC8617 at Fort Meadows 1938 Fairchild in snow + ice 1940 Ice Take-off 1938" Several floatplanes at anchor in the cove below High Head, the Bemis summer home in Brooklin, Maine. This would be the seaplane cruise 1940. CUs of man and woman in cockpit of one of the planes as it prepares to leave the High Head dock. Views of several planes taking off in the bay near High Head. A boat full of spectators in a classic motor boat heads away from the dock. In one view, the Pierce-Arrow fire truck is on the dock in case of emergency. View of several planes taking off and landing near High Head. Faith is on the dock as a toddler, tied with a rope in case she falls off the dock. One plane is filled with fuel from large buckets. Views from High Head of Cirrus and Vieux Corbeau on the dock with seaplane taxiing in and small sailing boats nearby. One plane lands in an area that does not look like Maine (fall colors surround lake). This is probably Mike Harlow landing at Fort Meadow Reservoir, near Marlborough, MA. Bemis' Fairchild 24 covered in snow and ice at edge of a pond or lake, 1940. Views of plane taking off in snowy, icy conditions, probably near Wayland, MA.
