Box: Oct. 1956 – Mary Lou off to school (Sent FRD – 1957)
Children getting on the bus for the Orrington School Department. Shots of the house and neighborhood covered in snow. Children opening presents. A boy (David) with a drum. David cutting a cake. [End of Reel]
"Snow. Orrington. Catching the school bus. Mary Lou in yellow hat and two other neighborhood kids. Bus heads towards South Orrington. We were all going to the Blanche K. Blake School back then. Great teachers—Miss Geraldine Clark, Mrs. Keene, and especially Mrs. Tibbetts. Dietrich house in Orrington with red garage doors. Frost on the trees. More present chaos. It may have been David’s birthday. He seems to be receiving all the presents. David got a drum. THAT didn’t last long (you can see why)."
