The Michael Bernard Collection/acc.0916 contains two reels of Aroostook County films. Reel 1: Presque Isle scenes ca.1920. Reel 2: 1928 Fair, Governor Brewster. Collection-level description: two factual [Aroostook films]. One shows downtown Presque Isle on the town's centennial in 1920, and includes shots of businesses on Main Street such as the Opera House, potato and apple harvesting, hunting camps, nearby Grand Falls, and the Aroostook Valley Railroad, an electric trolley line. A.R. Gould, a businessman and politician, and W.W. Thomas, responsible for Swedish immigration to Aroostook County, are shown in the footage. An additional fragment shows the Northern Maine Fair in Presque Isle in September 1928. Both films are intertitled.
