One of several reels of film that depicts a group of school teachers on a seven week University of Maine sponsored bus tour of the U.S., which started and ended at Orono, Maine. Commercial footage purchased by the creator and spliced into this reel of Mt. Vernon, home of George Washington in Alexandria, VA, showing interior rooms, exterior views, kitchen and other outbuildings, and Washington's grave. Intertitle: "Philadelphia". Views of Independence Hall, Carpenter's Hall, Betsy Ross house. Views of tugboat at work in New York Harbor, skyline views of the city, pan along the docks from a ferry. Approaching Statue of Liberty in a boat.
