Abstract
A crowd is seated in bleachers under a ‘Gregg for Governor’ banner behind a man approaching a microphone. A photographer stands on top of a car. Another shot of the crowd. A marching band marches down a street. Footage of streets at night with neon signs visible. A ‘Gregg for Governor’ van drives by. Scenes of Gregg supporters marching down the street carrying signs and torches. Hugh Gregg waves to the crowd. Footage of Hugh Gregg addressing a crowd atop a podium above a ‘Gregg for Governor’ banner and in front of a large picture of himself. Shots of fireworks. A procession of people, including several men in uniform, walks along a path into a building. A lone man in a black trench coat and top hat walks into the building. Footage of President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s 1953 swearing in ceremony and inaugural address from the United States Capitol Building in Washington D.C. A crowd lines the streets. Extensive footage of the inaugural parade, including President Eisenhower and Vice President Richard Nixon waving to the crowd from their respective cars and several other cars, marching bands, floats, military units, tanks and several other participants. Footage of a graduation ceremony in front of the tower atop Baker Library at Dartmouth University in Hanover, NH. Six older men in a convertible talk to a few people and then drive away. Footage of a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Strategic Air Command (SAC) base in Newington, NH including speakers on a stage, crowd scenes, an air show and the actual groundbreaking ceremony with ten men shoveling dirt.
