early 1940s
Creator's notes: 'April 5, 1942--Walden Street; May 30, 1941--Walden Street (?); Christmas 1940--Walden Street--Ed; 1944--Walden Street; 1942--Waterville, Maine [noted in margin: order marked on film: Apr. 5, 1942, 1940, 1944, Aug. 1945]'. Donor's notes: ''Christmas, 1940--Ed' with Ed Hatch in uniform is a copy. The original is on one of the numbered reels. Ed Hatch joined the Army before the start of WWII. The Waterville scenes are on Prospect St. That's a Victory bike, and the car is up on blocks for the duration. The August 1945 scenes at the end, poorly exposed because none of the Yankees involved know the f-stop implications of a Southern midsummer sun, were short by Lois, Henry and Dick Pratt around their wartime housing (23 Hibiscus Ave.) in Savannah Georgia (plus scenes along Victory Drive)'.
