Focus of the episode is on the medicinal uses of plants found in the forest. Little Tree first explains a ceremony he performed before entering the forest in order not to offend the spirits of the plants by recording their presences. He then points out various trees and describes how to identify and use them. Trees include: White Pine, the needles of which can be chewed as a source of vitamin c; Hemlock, used to treat flu; White Cedar, used as a menstrual treatment; Red Cedar, with edible berries and a treatment for swollen glands; Walnut, with edible nuts; and the Maple, a source of sugar. // See collection folder for more information about Little Tree.
