Documentary. Donor's description: 'The voyage was sponsored by A Quaker Action Group out of Philadelphia. They raised about $10,000 to buy medicine for the injured in North Vietnam (to balance that aid that they were providing in the South--their traditional method of maintaining nonpartisonship). The U.S. Government did not accept this stand, froze their bank account and even persuaded Canada to prohibit sending medicine from Canada. Thus the plan to sail on a 45 ft. ketch with 5 volunteers, from Misaka in Japan thru the inland sea to Hiroshima to pick up the medicine, to Hong Kong. Here they allowed a film crew to join them (having first said no to extra passengers). From here we sailed on thru the South China Sea to Haiphong to deliver the medicine and spend a week in No. Vietnam.' See Collection file for complete letter from donor.
