Summary
The Scott Bohlen Collection contains 12 reels of amateur, black-and-white and color 16 mm. film shot between 1926 and 1943. The films depict various travels, celebrations, and recreational activities of the Fitch family, including Bohlen's maternal grandparents. Travel footage includes a 1930 visit to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia; a boating trip along the southern New England and mid-Atlantic coast; a family trip to Canada; and several visits to a cabin in Mitchell Pond, Vermont. Recreational activities include fishing, golfing, camping, and winter scenes of the family skiing, skating, and sleigh riding. The collection contains footage of four football games played between Harvard and Dartmouth at both Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Hanover, New Hampshire.
Biographical/Historical Notes
Scott Bohlen lives in Bucksport, Maine. His mother, Barbara A. Bohlen (née Fitch), was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, and graduated from Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont.
