Collection contains [Douglas Gerrish--home movies] from Rockland, Maine, with scenes of family activities as well as actualities of two public events: the opening of Rockland's Carrol Cut Rate store in December 1937, and the Moffit Block (J.J. Newberry) fire on Main Street in Rockland in late September 1943.

Biographical/Historical Notes
Douglas Gerrish, a resident of Rockland, supplied this footage for the 1991 Rockland Community History Project. The Carrol Cut Rate drug store remained in business in Rockland until December 1969. Original footage is 16 mm. film.
