Biographical/Historical Notes
Diane Lee (1940-2002) was an independent Maine filmmaker. She acquired the Jerry Brown footage in Connecticut while working on the 1992 campaign, and bought the 35 mm. Burnett's vanilla extract film at an antique store. The Joseph Burnett Company, incorporated in 1895, was located in South Boston, Mass. The company, originally a chemists, manufactured food colorings and flavorings. In 1946 it was sold to American Home Foods, Inc., a subsidiary of American Home Products Corporation, later known as Wyeth.
