The Vernard I. Pierce Collection contains one 3/4 in. video cassette, transferred in 1995 from Pierce's original 16 mm. film. The collection contains home movies shot primarily by Pierce circa 1940. Subjects include the 1940 Centennial Parade in Caratunk, Maine; Pierce's logging operations in the woods near Bingham, Maine; and travel footage from a trip to New York City.
Vernard I. Pierce (1898-1974) lived in Bingham, Maine, and conducted logging operations in the area. Vernard was a boyhood friend of photographer Milford Baker of Monroe, Maine. Milford Baker Collection Vernard's daughter, Gail Pierce, lives in Caratunk, Maine.
