Biographical/Historical Notes
Louis Oakes Hilton was born on August 27, 1932 and passed away on May 6, 2013. Born in Greenville, Maine, Hilton supported many causes around Moosehead Lake, including the Moosehead Marine Museum, Charles A. Dean Memorial Hospital, and the restoration of the steamship Katadhin. Louis Hilton's father, C. Max Hilton was an executive of the Great Northern Paper Company and an investor in the Mt. Kineo Hotel.
