      The Tony Montanaro Collection consists of 1 VHS, 28 3/4" Umatic tapes, and 6 reels of 16mm films that contain footage with mime performances, workshops, and sketches performed by Tony Montanaro; 2 35mm reels of professionally shot commercial footage; and 2 reels of amateur Super 8 home movies. The films document the work of Tony Montanaro along with his students and other performers, including his partner Jewel Walker.
      Tony Montanaro was born in New Jersey in 1927 and earned a theater degree at Columbia University. He travelled to Europe to study with famous Mime Marcel Marceau and began his career performing and teaching around the world. In 1972 he moved to South Paris, Maine where he founded Celebration Barn, a school of mime and other performing skills. He remained in Maine until his death in 2002. Wikipedia
