      The Joan Cartledge Collection consists of 11 reels of amateur 8 mm and 35 reels of Super 8 film. The amateur films in the collection were shot by Joan Cartledge and document time spent as a missionary in Labrador, Canada, from 1972 to 1984. Also included is film of her travels throughout South America, Canada and the United States during the 60s, 70s and 80s. Much of the footage of Labrador consists of travel by snowmobile and by airplane. There is also footage of fishing, trapping, and caribou hunting. Footage of South America was shot in Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela, including Kaieteur Falls in Guyana. Cartledge also led a trip for students from Labrador, visiting other Canadian provinces, including Quebec and Ontario.
