Summary
Collection contains travelogues, created primarily for airline promotion, with titles such as "Views of Martinique 1953 Carnival" and "Wings to Europe, Grand Tour" [ca. 1960]. Other areas shown include the United States, Caribbean, South America, Europe and Scandinavia. Collection also contains an educational/cultural work entitled "Coffee," and erotica: a one-reel film called "Les Naturalistes" with scenes of a [Paris] nightclub show and women in exotic costumes.

Biographical/Historical Notes
Ernest L. Foss, born in Maine in 1907, began his career as an engineer at the U.S. Sound and Recording Company specializing in robophone technology. In 1934 he moved to the General Motors Research Laboratories in Detroit, assisting Dr. Charles Kettering in the development of the stroboscope. He lectured in General Motors' "Parade of Progress" traveling exhibit, an overview of American industrial progress.
