Yanks Fight the Kaiser: A National Guard Division in WWI

The Yankee Division of the National Guard was composed of companies from the six New England states.  Still photographs and silent movie footage tells of their bravery and skill on the Western Front in 1917-1918, and how they played a key role in the second battle of the Marne, the reduction of the St. Mihiel Salient, and  the Meuse-Argonne battle, the last American battle of the war.

Preserve

Without cold storage at low humidity, the film in your basement or your neighbor's attic cracks, rots, and fades, and part of our region's history is lost. NHF staff members have the skills and tools to preserve your valued moving images.
