THE ALAMO THEATRE IS EXTENDING THEIR BRICK CAMPAIGN

 

 

You asked for it!  

It’s not too late to buy a commemorative brick!

 

If you haven’t stopped in front of the Alamo Theatre and admired the beautiful new façade please do. When you are shopping downtown please stop and read the personal messages on the bricks around the front door. We thank everyone who bought one of those bricks. You saved the front of the Alamo from crumbling. We still have to grout and paint and replace a few that broke but they really do look wonderful as they are. They are a tribute to the love of a special community that is Bucksport, Maine.

 

Since so many people have asked if it’s too late to buy a brick we have decided to extend the campaign. As you know, the Alamo Theatre is a work in progress. We could use proper lobby lighting to replace the strings of yellow construction lights. The auditorium needs real air conditioning to replace the poor little window one that works so hard to cool that big space. There’s always something that needs to be replaced or have maintenance done.

 

The alcove around the front door of the building is already at capacity with the commemorative bricks that were purchased last year to save the façade. The next round of bricks will be installed around the inside of the front door. We think that this will be a nice way for people to enjoy the messages coming and going.
