Here for the first time, filmmakers Richard Searls and Stu Silverstein present the film, Dead River Rough Cut in its entirety.  Covering a period of four seasons in the remote backwoods of Maine this film presents a revealing look at the lives of Walter Lane and Bob Wagg.  They live and work in the woods, cutting trees, trapping beaver and accepting their isolation for the independence it affords them.  They share their reflections about friendship, women, money, the lone life and death.  Digitally remastered with almost 15 minutes of never seen footage as well as an interview with Bob Wagg late in his life and an interview with the filmmakers Richard Searls & Stu Silverstein.

Preserve

Without cold storage at low humidity, the film in your basement or your neighbor's attic cracks, rots, and fades, and part of our region's history is lost. NHF staff members have the skills and tools to preserve your valued moving images.
