Endowment Donors
Endowment Success
Northeast Historic Film was honored in September 2008 with a $25,000 endowment challenge grant from the Maine Community Foundation. As of March 2010, thanks to the generous support of the NHF board and supporters, we have completed the match.
An Endowment Challenge
In 2000, we received a $500,000 challenge grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) for the construction of the conservation center and endowment. We met the majority of the challenge with the construction of the conservation center, now we need to finish the endowment challenge in 2010. In order to do so we must raise another $90,000.
Executive Director David Weiss says, “Endowment donors are those who have the longest perspective on the value of the historical and cultural resources created by NHF. An endowment is money that is never spent; the donations are carefully invested so that earnings help support the programs of the organization indefinitely.”
Your gift to match the National Endowment for the Humanities grant is needed, particularly in these times. Other types of funding, like project grants, donated operating support and earned income while critically important to our current activities do not provide the level of assurance required to guarantee the permanent preservation of our region’s historical record. A guaranteed source of funds provided by an endowment demonstrates commitment to the long term.
Please give today with a donation of cash, a pledge, or a memorial gift. For more information call David S. Weiss, Executive Director, at 207-469-0924, or email.
