    The Arthur Libby Race Collection consists of 62 reels of amateur 16mm film and 2 16mm newsreels. The amateur films in the collection were shot by Arthur Libby Race and documents his family at home and on vacation around the United States and Caribbean over the years from 1927-1938.
    Arthur Libby Race, (1879-1960) was born and brought up in Boothbay, Maine. He worked as managing director of the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston and lived at the hotel as resident manager in the 1920s-1940s. Race was national chairman of the American Hotel Association Committee on Prohibition. He traveled extensively.
