Collection includes two commercial shorts, "Here Comes the Circus" (1944) and a Woody Woodpecker cartoon (1946), purchased and used by the camp. See also David Sanderson Collection.
Birch Rock Camp opened in 1926 during an era of high summer camp attendance in the Oxford County region of Maine. William and Leona Brewster founded the camp for boys on Lake McWain. William Brewster also served as the headmaster at Kimball Union Academy for many years. David Sanderson’s family has lived in Waterford, Maine, for over 200 years. The camp is located beside his great-great-grandfather’s farm, established in the 1850s.
