First 350 feet are severely faded color - image is completely red. All preservation elements were made in b&w. // Fourth of July parade at Western Maine Sanatorium. Woman wearing enormous bridal veil. Two girls follow carrying the veil. Float for "The Cure" with two beds labeled "Before" and "After." "Before" bed has sick patient, "After" bed has happy waving patient. Tractor pulls clown on miniature cart. Bridal company appears again, followed by man in costume as elderly man carrying shotgun. Minstrel show with musicians in blackface. Shotgun wedding couple pose for camera at gunpoint. Wedding ceremony is performed by man in blackface while groom continually tries to escape. Couple are tied together at the wrists with rope. Field races, including sprints, sack race, three-legged race, potato race. Women take turns throwing rolling pins at dummy hanging from noose. Pie eating contest? Boys with pigs on leashes run in circles. Small groups of men spray fire hoses at each other. More parade footage.
